Neil Leslie Cross

It is with great sadness that we the partners and staff of CMW Accountants announce the sudden passing of our dear colleague, Neil Cross. He is survived by his wife Krystina and daughter Tanya. Neil commenced his accounting career and qualified as a chartered accountant in Sydney before coming to Casino with his friend Bob McInnes in 1987. Together they acquired a share of an old established accounting practice and commenced trading as Cross & McInnes. The Partnership experienced strong growth and soon opened a Lismore Office and added two additional Partners. Neil chose to remain in the Casino Office and oversaw the continued success of the practice for the next 27 years. He worked fulltime in the business up until his sudden passing on 20th January 2019. Neil had strong relationships with both clients and staff. This was evidenced by his lengthy retention of clients and the number of our long term employees. He was not only good with numbers but had a great command of the English language. He enjoyed entertaining all who would listen to a good yarn. Neil never regretted moving to Casino and was highly involved with the community providing assistance to many local organisations over the years. He was a dedicated board member of the Casino Racing Club for 28 years. Neil will be remembered as a distinguished and trusted advisor to his clients, a caring boss, a trusted business partner, a thoughtful husband and father, a friend to all who knew him and a lover of thoroughbreds. He will be greatly missed. Our Casino Office remains open for business. The Partners Mark & Matt and their staff, will continue to provide high quality, confidential & professional services to our clients.
