SAE to take over lease of world-class music facility

SAE Creative Media Institute will take over the lease of world-class music facility Studio 301 in Byron Bay from August.

The move is a massive boost for current and future SAE audio students and staff who will enjoy unfettered access to one of the country's best recording, mixing and mastering facilities.

Students will start using the facility from September this year.

The CEO of SAE Southern, Joseph Anthonysz, said the decision to lease the studio was an easy one.

"When the Studio 301 facility located at our Byron Campus became available, we didn't think twice about taking it over to enhance the teaching and learning experience for staff and students," he said.

"The studio has helped Australian and international music communities to shape the future sound of music - and will now be used by our staff and students to shape the future generation of world-class producers and musicians."

Studio 301 has been used by some of the country's best musicians including Powderfinger, Grinspoon, The Whitlams, the Screaming Jets and Birds of Tokyo.

International artists that have graced the studio include Bruce Springsteen, Florence and the Machine, Eric Bibb and The Mars Volta.
