Mono's the world champ for second year in a row

BYRON Bay's Mark 'Mono' Stewart is world adaptive surf champion for the second year in a row clinching victory at La Jolla Beach California earlier this morning local time.

He won in the AS2 Stand/Kneel final heat one with a score of 15.5 beating out Eric Dargent 9.04 of France in second.

This is Mono's second championship and comes after he had to change his surfing technique five days out from the competition when a late rule change meant he could not use his flipper.
