Lee’s chance to finish his career off in some style
RETIRING Australian fast bowler Brett Lee will get a chance to make up for one of the worst results in his career in Wednesday night's Big Bash League final in Canberra.
The last time the veteran paceman played at Manuka Oval he captained the Prime Minister's XI to a 172-run loss against England - the biggest defeat in the history of those matches.
The 38-year-old showed he was ready to set the record straight in the BBL final after the Sydney Sixers demolished the Adelaide Strikers by 87 runs in Saturday night's semi-final.
Lee (pictured) showed he was capable of bowling as fast as ever, sending down one 149kmh delivery which smashed the bat of Strikers opener Craig Simmons.
The star with the bat for the Sixers was opener Nic Maddinson who blasted 85 from just 48 deliveries. He said the players were desperate to send Lee out on a winning note.
