Greens ballot for double dissolution

THE New South Wales Greens obviously believe a double dissolution election is on the cards.

Senator Lee Rhiannon was endorsed over the weekend as the Greens held a preselection ballot "for a possible double dissolution Senate election".

Senator Rhiannon secured 645 primary votes in the preselection ballot, followed by Cate Faehrmann with 222 votes.

The two-candidate-preferred vote was 69%-31%.Ms Faehrmann will be at the top of the Greens' ticket when the scheduled half-Senate election is held.

"I thank party members for their strong endorsement," Senator Lee Rhiannon said.

"I congratulate Cate Faehrmann on winning the half-Senate election ballot and I look forward to working with her on the campaign," Senator Rhiannon said.
